The School Day

The school week must be a minimum of 32.5 hours. A typical day at Ferndown Upper School is 7.5hrs and consists of the following:

08:25 Students arrive at school in preparation for Tutor Time
08:30 – 09:00 Tutor Room – registration and tutor-led activities and/or discussions Year group Assemblies
09:00 – 10:00 Period 1
10:00 – 11:00 Period 2
11:00 – 11:20 Break – Canteen open
11:20 – 12:20 Period 3
12:20 – 13:20 Period 4
13:20 – 14:00 Lunch – Canteen open
14:00 – 15:00 Period 5
15:00 End of School Day – mobile phones may only be collected from lockers/Pastoral after this time.

Sixth Form students may have early or late finishes, depending on their timetable. If a student has a Period 6 timetabled they will finish their school day at 16:00.
After-school clubs, detentions and revision events may finish as late as 16:30 and this is communicated in advance.
