The School Day
The school week must be a minimum of 32.5 hours. A typical day at Ferndown Upper School is 7.5hrs and consists of the following:

| 09:00 – 10:00 | Period 1 |
| 10:00 – 11:00 | Period 2 |
| 11:00 – 11:20 | Break – Canteen open |
| 11:20 – 12:20 | Period 3 |
| 12:20 – 13:20 | Period 4 |
| 13:20 – 14:00 | Lunch – Canteen open |
| 14:00 – 15:00 | Period 5 |
| 15:00 | End of School Day – mobile phones may only be collected from lockers/Pastoral after this time. |
Sixth Form students may have early or late finishes, depending on their timetable. If a student has a Period 6 timetabled they will finish their school day at 16:00.
After-school clubs, detentions and revision events may finish as late as 16:30 and this is communicated in advance.
